Threatening creepy clown sightings were seen in New York, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

These clown seem to have a motive to terrorize children as the sightings are often reported nearby schools. Some may argue that it is instead a folklore with a modern twist, viral marketing, an expression of human anxiety, social media fad, alternate reality game, or reality. Whether it is real or not, it is terrifying to know that American children are threaten by clowns. A character who once entertained them with jokes and funny gags.
