Summer treats

With summer here, people are more likely to hang out. Whether it's at a BBQ or picnic, food is more than likely to be present. So, in the spirit celebrating, T-Squared MedEA would like to offer a few simple recipes.

Enjoy!

Brunch

Eggs Benedict:

This dish originates from NYC and balances simplicity with class. To put it in simple terms, it's a poached egg on top of an English muffin with ham and hollandaise sauce. Hollandaise sauce is just eggs and butter.

Drink

Smoothie:

This beverage emerged in the U.S. during the 30's with the invention of the electric blender. The term for it wasn't created until the 60's. Below is our recipe for a smoothie that one of our vice presidents had while attending a bee rave at our school. The event was to raise awareness for honey bees.

In a electric blender, put:

1 cup of strawberry

1 cup of blueberry

2 spoons of vanilla yogurt

1 cup of ice

A small amount of orange juice

2 squeezes of honey

Dinner

Shrimp Scampi:

Although it may seem complicated, shrimp scampi is actually pasta with shrimp in an olive oil sauce. Originating from Europe, the dish originally used lobster but due to shortages, other seafood has substituted it.
